In Ghana, the primary legislation governing occupational safety and health is the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), which outlines the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees regarding workplace safety and health, ensuring workers have the right to work under safe and healthy conditions as stated in the Ghanaian constitution (Article 24(1) 

 DFI is a department under the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations. It is the Agency's responsibility to ensure that employers provide and maintain at the workplace, plant, and system of work that are safe and ensure the health and safety of employees engaged in a particular job by providing the necessary information, instructions, training, and supervision having regard to the age, literacy level and any other circumstance of the employee. Specifically, the DFI, through the Chief Inspector, has the statutory responsibility for the enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health in Ghana. 

 Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a critical aspect of any working environment. In Ghana, the foundational legislation outlining the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees regarding workplace safety and health is the Labor Act 651 (2003). Other laws such as the Factories, Offices, and Shops Act 1970 (Act 328) and The Mining Regulations 1970 (LI 665) focus on specific work environments. The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and the Department of Factories Inspectorate (DFI) are key bodies responsible for developing and enforcing OHS policies in Ghana.

Ghana's OHS standards are inspired by International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. These standards include hazard identification and risk assessment, provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety training and education, accident and incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and occupational health services. Employers are responsible for regular assessments and controls, providing suitable PPE, and maintaining a system for reporting and investigating work-related injuries and illnesses. Workers are entitled to receive sufficient training covering workplace hazards, appropriate procedures, and the proper use of equipment and PPE.

All classes are taught M-F 8am to 5pm.  A 40% surcharge applies for any  courses scheduled to be taught after hours or on weekends and holidays.

Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellation notification must be in writing (fax or emails are acceptable) and received (not postmarked) 

Four weeks before scheduling training— 0 % of the total invoice. The client is responsible for any travel and per diem charges incurred. If no charges occur, then there is no charge.

2-4 weeks before scheduled training, you will be charged  - 25% of the course and the travel invoice amount

1-2 weeks before scheduled training, you will be charged- 60% of the course, and the travel invoice amount

If you wait less than one week to schedule training, you will be charged—100% of the course and travel invoice amount.

Once a class has started – No Refund  

Please allow 2-3 weeks for refunds. Due to unforeseen circumstances, IASHEP Training Consult(GHANA)and its training partners reserve the right to cancel this activity. 

In the event of such cancellation, only the registration fee will be returned to the registrant. IASHEP Training Consult - (GHANA) and its training partners will not be responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participant in case of cancellation.
